Making a case for plants & fungi: Using and writing case studies for botany and mycology education.
Case studies are a proven, effective technique for science education. They can be used in small classes as well as large lectures for students at any level of experience. Despite the number of case studies available for use by science educators, there is a noticeable absence of case studies about plants and fungi. This workshop will present the basic principles of case study teaching and then give participants the opportunity to begin developing their own case studies.
